Objective:

The research project addresses the problem that positive economic effects can only be realized through new technologies if companies take up these technologies and transfer them into applications.

Approach:

In cooperation with the Hessenagentur as well as small and medium-sized enterprises from various industries, a method is being further developed that enables forecasting and planning in fields of technological breakthroughs. A method based on roadmapping and the use of technology indicators has been developed by the Department of Innovation and Technology Management at the University of Kassel. It is adapted to the needs of SMEs in order to require as few resources as possible (especially human resources) and to be easy to apply, i.e. if possible without extensive external support. The aim of the project is to disseminate this methodology to Hessian SMEs in order to enable the sustainable development of competence in the field of new technology management.

Duration:

November 2006-October 2007.
